Why is rock changing?

Rock has changed so much........it went from the beatles and beach boys to Led Zeppelin and ACDC to Def Leppard and guns n roses to Pearl Jam and Nirvana to Nickleback and Creed those are all good bands but now it seems like rock totaly changed, not all of it, but now its almost like pop music and there are no more good guitar riffs and its just not as good i dont know maybe its because i like more of the older stuff but yea.....................................鈥?br>
ROCK ON!!!
Why is rock changing?
It's better to try new things.. There some great rock bands that are still lighting up the fire of Rock..

Alter Bridge

Daughtry

Saliva

And more...

The only thing that gives disgrace to the rock genre is the

%26quot;Emo%26quot; genre.. Bands like:

My Chemical Romance

Fall Out Boys

Panic! at the Disco

Click 5

They can't do anything rather than spin and spin while playing guitar, cut their wrist, or kiss boys.. They got no talent at all.. They can only do like power chords or something, simple drum beats and bass lines, and the vocalists aren't good either.. As far as I know, MCR's lead Guitarist, Ray Toro, is a Slash wanna be.. Look at his style of playing, the equipment, and even the physical looks.. I don't know why people like those bands..
Why is rock changing?
Because it would be boring if it didn't.
because ppl suck and their music reflects this
Correction : Creed and Nickleback are not good bands.

Music always evolves. No matter what genre.
Mostly it because times have changed. There are no more hippies or Disco music. As time passes and style changes the music is going to change too.

There are good guitar riffs but not as good as back then.

=D
Rock is changing because it's more about money, or at least looks now, plus it's mainly kids listening now so the good stuff is hiding... I miss the good music days as well, and pretty much hate anything heard on the radio, but you can still find some of that good true rock between the lines.

And for those of you saying if it didn't change it'd be boring, while I do agree with you to some degree, I also think that a lot of old rock did keep it interesting and with a lot of stuff they changed it up because they felt like it, not because it made them money. Today, not with everything, but a lot of bands either sound very much the same to the next, or everything they've done is about the same thing, or at least sounds like it... thats just my opinion, don't hate me for it.
Why don't you eat the same exact thing everyday!

Ya need variation to spice it up
Music changes alot because it is always evolving and if people did the same thing every time than rock would start to get rather boring. I don't mind some of the old rock, its just I prefer the new stuff and I think innovative artists have usually done well and thats why its changing.
It's because shows like American Idol have ruined the music industry. Music is not about talent anymore. Bands are manufactured and artists win contests. Imagine if bands like The Beatles, THe Who, The Doors, Zepplin or U2 or AC/DC had to make it in todays industry. They would fail miserably because today's youth has no concept of what good music is.
who the hell likes nickleback anyway? it's like saying, %26quot;i love hinder.%26quot; it depends on the type of rock you listen to, i guess.
well, we could ask ourselves this question for many things: why does fashion change? why does the weather change? why do people change? why does technology change? because change is good, without it things would be boring. i enjoy both new and old rock, it's all just music to me.
Rock is changing into fast food, money driven music. It is no longer about those cool guitar licks, drum solos, awesome vocals or legendary lyrics. It is now screaming out of tune, walls of angry guitar riffs, and lyrics which often don't make much sense.

It'll start changing back when people listen to the older stuff, realize what they had and not put up with subpar music. It'll also happen when record labels start taking chances again on new, talented music rather than %26quot;sure bets%26quot; which hit the charts %26amp; sound like everything else. Just my take.

Rock on !
BECAUSE TOO MANY LITTLE KIDS LIKE FOB AND MCR AND GET CAUGHT UP IN THAT CRAP
It has to if it didnt one it would be terribly borring two its the process of evolution people want to push the limits some for good some for bad but its all necessary to keep music interesting obviously weve entered a dry spell but think back 30 years(in the span of music not that long) it was a musical golden age with the zeppelin influence still coming the beatles influence fresh in the minds of all and soooo many others there will be more times like these just wait. however if music stopped changing it would be stuck in this emo top-40 age 4-ever the brits just need to send over some more talent haha PE@CE
well, errrr...um

as i will often say, music is always a reflection of its time. we are living in a world of consumerism. that's why, first and foremost, the purpose of music is to accommodate demand. for many people, the decision about a particular type of music is a lifestyle commitment, they are kind of associating their existence with the music they are listening to, without being touched by it too deeply.

ewww! creed and nickelback...disgusting.
Because the new generation of bands are idiots like Ozzy Osbourne Fan up there and make crappy music
Yeah, Rock isn't changing, the public's views on music is changing. There are still plenty of bands out there now that sound like those bands (Airbourne sound like AC/DC) but they don't have the same appeal. The public's taste in music has changed from great guitar riffs to.....well....listen to the radio. The Beatles are the best band of all time because people of that era loved their smooth vocals and brilliant tunes, but if a band exactly like them was to come out now, they would not have the same appeal.

(Oh and BTW, Nirvana and Pearl Jam are more 'Grunge' than 'rock' and 'Creed' and 'Nickelback' are not a good example of 'Rock' at the moment, a better example would be a band like 'Jet' or 'Foo Fighters')
i agree with Jake rulez d00d.

time goes on. people change, along with styles, and even MUSIC.

Now beach boys are oldies.

Zepplin, ACDC, Def leppard and guns and roses are classic rock.

Pearl jam and Nirvana are grunge.

Creed is Rock.

Nickelback is probably more alternative.

If you are referring to bands like My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, and a lot of others, you are putting them in the wrong category.

they arent really as %26quot;Rock%26quot; but they are %26quot;alternative rock%26quot;.

they ARE NOT pop. todays POP is different, such as brittany spears, daughtry(altern-pop), and christina aguliera.

i agree, Zeppelin, ACDC, and Guns n roses are classics. but it's just the style that changes.

basically its changing because MUSIC changes with STYLE.
Music changes over time, like everything else.

If music didn't change, people would get tired of it. That's WHY it changes. You get a bunch of bands that have similar sounds, people get tired of the old stuff and start something new!
The world changes, people change...so rock music changes day by day, year by year, decade by decade
Music evolves. in the time of the beatles, things were much simpler and there weren't so many musical acts then. but i believe too much commercialism has taken a hold on the music industry, nowadays it's about selling records. it isn't because there are no good bands, because there are, but we need to discover them. i could give you a few examples.
I enjoyed the Rock of the past of The Beatles, Black Sabbath and The Who but I mostly enjoy the evolution of music. It's been a fun ride through the eras. Today's music is so wide open with a vast range of styles that even mentioning the likes of Creed and Nickleback as your apex of today's music is kinda like a slap in the face! Name off bands like Radiohead or Tool and you might of gotten a different reaction. Music evolution is cool, enjoy the ride!
If it didnt change music would be boring. We would be hearing the same things year after year, album after album. Music will always be changing. The beach boys sound nothing like Nirvana, but Nirvana in a way came out of the Beatels and the Beach Boys. Just like half the bands that are playing today are influnced by Nirvana but still have their own sound.
Generation, sad. I miss the old rock!
Ha ha your wrong its getting harder ********, wow your an idiot. Rock takes more talent than pop, therefore its not popish. nucca. Stupid lint licker.
