How many degrees is the western horizon?

What I mean is, if you're facing due West (like on the beach or something), how many degrees of change in latitude/longitude will there be from the the most southern part of the western horizon to the most norther part of the western horizon?
How many degrees is the western horizon?
Technically, to look west you'd be facing 270掳. Assuming you are using a 4 point compass (N, S, E, W), anything less than 225掳 (the most southern part of the western horizon) would be considered south and anything greater than 315掳 (the most northern part of the western horizon) would be considered north. Therefore 315掳-225掳 = 90掳.

Another way to calculate this is to divide the 360掳 contained in a circle by the 4 cardinal points, and you still end up with 90掳.

Latitude and longitude are lines of reference used to determine a location, and do not relate to the direction of the horizon.
