What is the importance of beaches?

I need some help on these few questions...

1. What is the source of beach sand?

2. How might the beach change seasonally?

3. What is the importance of beaches?

Thanks!|||The source of beach sand depends on the location. On the coast of Washington state, beach sand is mostly granite particles that have eroded from mountain ranges, washed down rivers and is deposited on beaches by tidal and storm waves. In Jamaica, there is little erosion from the mountains. The sand is generally composed of ground up coral and shells. That is why the beaches are so white and the waters so blue. The sun reflects off the shell particles. During Summer months, beaches are flat and free of large chucks of debris. During winter storms, sand is washed out to sea, leaving a steeper slope on the beach. Large logs can litter the beaches during Winter storms. Beaches support marine life, sea turtles bury their eggs in the sand, sand is important for the local economies-tourism. Beaches protect the surrounding landscape from eroding into the sea.|||Sand comes from the water washing against rock over the years leaving the tiny pieces of sand.

The beach changes seasonally by high and low tides and sometimes there are many shells on the beach like October I think, sometimes a lot of seaweed.

Just a nice place to sit and watch the waves. It has a calming effect.|||Sand is washed up from ocean, and dries in sun.

It doesn%26#039;t, the weather changes... and then people don%26#039;t go because it%26#039;s cold.

They are fun to go and play in waves and make sand castles, spend time with family and friends... and fly kites.

yay!|||1. Rock erosion

2. Waves and currents alter the beach

3. They provide a barrier between the ocean and the land, and help prevent further erosion.|||beaches suck a d|||they are awsome!!! DUH!!
