How do the Ocean Tides change?

I have been in Panama City beach this past week, and haven%26#039;t seen the tides change at all... Never noticed them not changing on previous beach vacations.|||Check wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tides

Basically it%26#039;s to do with the rotation of the earth and the tidal forces from the sun and moon.

Hope that helps!

Matthew|||The moon`s gravity infuences the tides by an average difference of about 8 feet. (Difference of high and low tide)

This will be more noticable on very shallow beaches. The sun also affects the tides to a lesser degree. Even though the sun is larger, it is much further away. For you gavity seekers out there. You can build a devise to measure the gravity. Build a large capacitor using aluminum foil and glass plates as insulators. Hook this up to a 555 timer where the capacitor controls frequency. The frequency will be affected by the force (due to gravity) between the plates of the capacitor!|||The ocean tides change in relation to the moons gravitational pull upon the earth in it%26#039;s natural rotation. I beleive that what your experiencing, or not seeing, is caused by your proximity to the earths equator, where the gravitational pull would be at its least upon the earth.|||The tides change by the cycles of the moon.
