Does pool water change the color of high lights?

My husband and I are going on a cruise in December, and I was planning on getting my hair done a few days before we go. I want to get subtle caramel high lights (I have reddish/brown hair right now) I know they have a pool on the ship and we're also going to be swimming on the beach. Will that change the color of my hair?

Thanks :)

There might be some subtle changes if they use fresh water in the pool. It has to be chlorinated. If they use sea water then it doesn't get chlorinated.
no, as long as you take a shower afterwards and wash out the chlorine so they dont turn green, but you'd have to do a whole lot of swimming to get your hair to turn green when its carmel. You should be fine.
yes, but before you get in. rinse your hair with tap water then get in the pool cause your hair cant absorb chlorine water if its already wet with tap water
it does, due to the chemicals in the pool. I'm a hairdresser specialized in color and I always recommend my clients to wet their hair completely and add a leave-in conditioner before going into the water. Your hair will be soaked that there will be no room for your hair to absorb the water from the pool, and the leave in conditioner will help you maintain your hair healthy. A good leave-in conditioner I recommend is Fast Fix from bed head products, and is not too expensive.
