next Sunday were planning to spend a day at the beach... we were previously planning to go on a picnic and regarding to food i was going to prepare some cold pasta which i have already done last month (i mean last time we went to a picnic cooked and took some cold pasta).. but we changed plans and are now going to the beach. what kind of food can i take with me pls? i mean something apart from sandwiches salads and rice/pasta.. thx :)|||My first thought was Shrimp Cocktail using large Shrimp. You can have something as simple as a really good bread and some cheese. Oh, don%26#039;t forget the obvious, watermelon. Speaking of that, fruit salad and maybe some prosciutto would be nice. Despite the fact that you said no sandwiches I had to mention my beach favorite: Spicy Shrimp Salad Serves 2
Ingredients
1 pound uncooked large, ez-peel shrimp, peeled, de-veined
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
1 small red bell pepper, chopped
1 small yellow bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup chopped celery
Radicchio or butter lettuce leaves
Preparation
Cook shrimp in medium pot of boiling salted water until just opaque in center, about 4 minutes. Drain shrimp and cool. Combine mayonnaise and Old Bay seasoning in large bowl. Add bell peppers, green onions, celery and shrimp. Season salad with salt and pepper and toss to blend. Arrange 1 lettuce leaf on each plate. Spoon salad into leaves and serve, or serve on crusty French rolls|||Anything sticky! The sand adds great texture and you can get all of your weekly fiber in one meal!
: P|||We brought a whole roast chicken, that was bought at the store, salads (bean, chickpea, pumpkin), grapes, fresh figs. You could take crackers and dip.

go to the store and check out everything that you can eat with your hands and have lots of nibbles|||You are ruling everything out now without sandwiches and salads! I like to bring imitation crabmeat salad in a ziplock container and put it on crackers. I also bring pickles and chips.|||i think u should go simple and choose hot dogs!! there good for the beach.|||Are you going to a beach where there are firepits? Hot dogs or hamburgers usually work well. Sandwiches are good--with enough notice, you can even take the work out of it by ordering from someplace like Subway. Just remember to keep the cold foods COLD!

Who can you contact about disgusting garbage littered all over the beach and coastline?
I recently moved to Texas from Oregon, and although I like Texas a lot i am completely appalled and disgusted by the amount of garbage that is spread all over ( and I mean everywhere!) the beach. Everybody here just seems to throw their garbage all over the beach. There isnt a clean area of beach to stretch out and relax on. I have seen dirty diapers, styrafoam cups, milkjugs, tall white buckets, wrappers, alcohol containers, fishing lures, plastic wrap from cigarette packs and things like that. It%26#039;s disgusting and everywhere. I am used to going to the beach and seeing very little garbage. It looks clean and it%26#039;s beautiful when you visit. Oregons beaches were very well taken care of and rarely did I see garbage. How can I bring this to attention and who do I need to start with at trying to make people realize what they are doing by littering. I%26#039;d like to really get some support and hopefully someone in charge of changing things like this in the State to start making changes!|||Guessing that Texas probably had a %26quot;beach cleanup%26quot; similar to the one we have in Oregon, I did a quick search and found this information:

Generally, Canadians are less likely to litter than Americans so it%26#039;s less of a problem, but alot of that stuff comes up on the beach from the ocean itself, esp. tampons, condoms, etc. In your home State they may have even paid ppl to comb the beach to keep it clean, as each tide brings in a new wave of filth.
However, I highly recommend that if this is a serious bee in your bonnet, look to creating such a volunteer org yourself. Someone%26#039;s got to do it, and it%26#039;s better coming from an impassioned, motivated person. And new residents who can see a problem with a fresh eye are some of the best citizens in thier adopted home.
Though I might go a little looney and carry around big signs and harrange the litterers myself. When it comes to being powered-by-rage, I%26#039;m a performance artist.

Survey! anyone remember getting changed on the beach into a swim suit wrapped in a towel what a hoot?
Oh yes, I know for sure when I done it it was like a Benny Hill sketch.|||yep...i sure do. some fun gotta use a BIG resort towel.|||yes me and my mates used to sit watchin men on the beach doing that just incase.....|||yea then you went into the water and your swimsuit turned into a nylon bag .......then you had to round run to get dry cause somebody else was using the towel to get changed|||I don%26#039;t bother with the towel hun....|||yes i do!! how funny is that i cant believe i forgot about that!! what a great feeling once you were dressed it was equivalent to finishing paying the bills now at this stage of the game lol great memory......|||Thats so funny to remember,as i had 2 brothers and sometimes their mates were about,id crap meself,i proberly looked worse for wear as i couldnt always get the ties done right..cheers|||lol lol - yes, I do!|||last time I was on a beach,I was on my own!! well it was April,Easter time in Greece and the water was freezing.the fish did not complain and neither did I.Even seen a dolphin,while in the water,quite far out,but it was luvely!|||Yes.!!!|||Shock! Change around my beach bedroom?
So I just re-did my bedroom about two years ago. It%26#039;s a beach theme with relaxing green and blue walls. I%26#039;ve got 5 windows and i have plenty of pictures and shells and starfish and sanddollars on the walls. (its not too much though, i keep it neat) I also have two light maple dressers. (one of them with a mirror on top.) I love my room but idk i just have this urge to change it up a bit.. re-arrange things a little but keeping it all in all the same concept and colors and all. any suggestions?|||take down old pics and put in new bedding, curtains, and pics. it%26#039;ll give you a new look without being a real change|||i would do an Arabian theme:-)

At what age is it inappropriate for your child to change into their swimwear right on the beach?
I would say at about 4, but I saw one women who let her 7 and 9 year old daughters change into their swimsuits right in public! What do you think?|||i think the same as you. 4- but not over.

I%26#039;d say that before puberty, at least a halfhearted attempt at holding a towel up should maybe be made, but everyone else on the beach should not be staring, either. A traditional ceremony inside a beach front hotel.
Pictures taken inside and outside on the beach.
Buffet style food served either inside, or on the beach if possible.
Change dress into something less traditional and have more pics taken on the beach.
Music and dance floor for maybe 2 hours, and mics for guests to speak.

Is it legal to change into a swimsuit on the beach?
or out of it? If I just want to quickly take off my shorts or take off my swimsuit to change, am I allowed to? or can some1 call the police. Even if i can get in trouble, what are the chances of someone calling the police?|||its not illegal unless you expose yourself.

Are the Women Topless on European Beaches?
We are considering a vacation to Europe, if we can get some bargains. I am not quite sure where, it will depend on the prices. I have been told by friends that the women all go topless on the beaches. I have also been told that there is a lot of nudity on the beaches, that people change into their swimming clothes right on the beach, and that there is sometimes sex on the beaches.
I looked at some travel books, and found words like “surprising to Americans” and “a different dress code”, but no real info.
I have two teenage daughters and a teenage son. My family is kind of relaxed about clothes. My daughters take showers when my son is in the bathroom, and visa-versa. We change clothes together in hotel rooms. My son has seen me and my daughters naked many times, and my daughters have seen my son and husband naked many times. So I don’t think seeing a topless woman on the beach is a problem.
I am concerned about nudity. It’s one thing in the family, but different with strangers. Also, if all the women are topless, are my daughters going to feel pressure to expose their breasts.

How to build a faux beach?
I need to recreate the beach look with the change over into water. this element will be in an event space that people will walk on. Cost is an issue. We are trying to do this with the least amount of mess as well. Time is also a factor.|||How about a painted drop on the floor?
You can buy big canvas paint dropcloths cheap at any hardware store. Prime them with white paint or spray-on primer first, then paint however you like. While the paint is still wet, you can sprinkle a bit of sand on there for texture and it%26#039;ll stay put when the paint dries--far less messy than using a ton of loose sand.
You could also add easily removable set dressing for realism and texture--driftwood, shells, seaweed, old cans--whatever would be appropriate. Perhaps you could even paint one edge of the dropcloth to look like the sea.|||Water on stage is tricky. I%26#039;ve seen it done but on very expen$ive sets. im working on my bedroom at a vacation house at the beach, and i would like to know what i can do to decorate it,

What to do after sunset beach destination wedding? Should I change out of dress?
I am planning a wedding for August and it%26#039;s just going to be my fiance and me in Florida for a beach ceromony (primarly for the pictures). So we plan on being done by 8ish. What should we do afterwards; club? dinner? I will be wearing a wedding gown. Is there a rule change in overhand setting for Beach Volleyball as per FIVB Rulebook?
This is when the overhand setting is not used as attack hit. Somebody explained that shoulder squaring or positioning need not apply and that the ball may rebound to any position as opposed to the ball travelling perpendicular forward or back. What is critical is whether overhand setting is held or doubled. Pls also expound on technicality of finger motion when setting. The set is judged solely on the contact. All the referees are concerned with is the double hit or lift. A double hit shows lack of control and the lift shows too much control.

Technically, you use your fingers since the ball hits them, but that is not what the book means by finger action. They mean the overhand pass. You use your hands to control the ball. I know weather has an effect on water temperature, but if you could provide more detail about it that would be helpful :)

I am on South Beach diet, can I change the low fat mayo to low fat miracle whip?

How do you get changed on the beach?
I go to the beach a lot but when Im changing into my swimsuit I dont know where to go! there%26#039;s never a private enough spot! people always walk past! and I can never do the towel trick right! I did that yesterday and I realised I was flashing my bum the whole time! these little kids saw it and laughed at me! why dont all beaches have changing rooms!|||Many stores carry really cute shirts, dresses and outfits designed to wear over your bathing suit. Girls - How do you change on the beach?
When you get changed on the beach, how do you do it? Do you stand, and wrap a towel round you? Or sit and drape a towel over your lap, or just sit and change quickly without bothering with the towel at all? Or another way? I often go to the south of France, and many girls there do without the towel...|||I don%26#039;t use the towel at all, just change normally. but usually on the bottom half I wear a skirt so I could put on my swimmer with out having to take my skirt off.|||wear a skirt, then you have less chance of biaccidently flashing anyone. South Beach Diet-Weight not changing? Help?
I started the South Beach Diet almost one month ago. After doing the 2 week induction...My daily food intake now consists of either a South Beach Meal Replacement Bar for Breakfast or some form of eggs depending on how much time I have. For lunch I have either a grilled chicken salad or a South Beach pizza with a very small salad. Same for dinner. I also snack on sf jello w/ sf cool whip, broccoli with cheese, or turkey slices. I also work out moderately at least 3 or 4 times a week. I have noticed being a bit more firm and toned, but I have not lost one single pound. Please help?! I realize that scales are not the only judge but it would be nice to see SOME weight loss for all my effort.|||Are you measuring yourself? Especially since you are exercising, you may be losing fat but gaining muscle. In that case you may weigh the same, but still be shrinking because muscle is more dense than fat and takes up less space for the same amount of weight.

I agree, change her right there. cover her up so pervies don%26#039;t look in and she doesn%26#039;t get sand anywhere she shouldn%26#039;t, but that should be easy with an umbrella and a chair. maybe if it was very crowded, like person on top of person, I would go to a restroom, but really, I%26#039;d save myself the hassle and just change her there. should be fine :)|||Its truly up to, whether or not you want to. Its perfectly fine to lay a blanket on the chair and its fine to take her to the restroom. But i advise you before you go on the beach make sure there is a changing station in the bathroom if not stick with putting her on the lawn chair with a blanket under her!!
